They are extra axes on the stick
In an MSFS forum thread, an owner with a Hotas One and TFRP on a Series X in MSFS 2024 says the pedals are not listed as a separate peripheral. Under Settings, Controls, T.Flight Hotas One, Search by input showed the rudder as Joystick Axis 2, the left toe brake as Axis 6 and the right as Axis 7, already assigned. Other owners in the thread say the same: quadrant and pedals are missing from the device list, and some say the bindings still work in MSFS 2020.
A few owners in that thread say nothing registered at all, even in Search by input, with an Airbus stick, quadrant and pedals. No fix was posted. Contacting Thrustmaster and checking for defective hardware were the suggestions.
Check the connection path
- TFRP: plug the RJ12 cable into the Hotas One, Hotas Neo X, TCA Yoke Boeing, or a TCA quadrant. The T.RJ12 USB adapter is for PC only. The Hotas Neo X port is in its manual; article 1776 predates that stick.
- TCA Airbus quadrant: Thrustmaster’s Xbox article says it works only through the TCA Sidestick X, connected by USB-A on the stick. The stick’s white LED switches off and on again when it detects the quadrant.
- Two Airbus quadrants: set one switch to 1&2 and the other to 3&4. With both on the same position, Xbox detects only one and the Xbox LED flashes.
- Port count: the Sidestick X has two USB-A ports. A TPR rudder takes one, which leaves room for one quadrant.
- Stick and console: set the stick’s switch to Xbox and plug it straight into the console. See USB extensions and hubs.
- Local install: Thrustmaster’s devices work with games installed on the console, not with cloud streaming.
Plug in before you launch
Owners in the forum thread say the pedals are not recognized if you connect them while the sim is running. Close MSFS, connect everything, then start it. The Sidestick X article adds that with the console off you connect the stick and turn the console on; with it on you connect, wait a few seconds, and press the stick’s Xbox button.
Which models can do this at all
The pedal table on the Xbox page lists each pedal model and its Xbox path. PC-only pedals have none.
